Have the app?
Open Remember4Me and go to: Settings → Delete account It deletes everything in one step.
See the stepsNo longer have the app?
Delete it on the web. Sign in with the same Apple or Google account you used in the app.
Delete on the web What it doesCan’t sign in at all?
Email us your Account ID, and we’ll delete what we hold on our servers.
How it worksDeletion is permanent.
It can’t be undone. To keep anything, download your data in the app first: Settings → Download my data
This saves your data as an archive (a zip file). The archive isn’t encrypted, so keep it somewhere private. Large libraries export in batches.
Deleting doesn’t cancel your subscription.
Apple or Google bills it, so cancel it in your store account.
iPhone / iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions
Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
Delete in the app
- Open Remember4Me and go to: Settings → Delete account
- Confirm it’s you with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. If you signed in with Apple, confirm with Apple too.
- Type DELETE and tap Delete my account.
Your backup and keys are deleted from our servers right away, and the app restarts signed out. The few things we keep are listed below.
You need an internet connection. If the connection fails, nothing is deleted and you can try again.
If you no longer have the app
Delete on the web
Go to remember4me.gramjee.com/account/delete. It works in any browser, on any device.
- Choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple. Sign in with the same account you used in the app.
- The page shows your Account ID and whether we found a backup for that account. If you saved your Account ID from the app, check that they match. No backup found? You may have used a different account in the app.
- Type DELETE and tap Delete my account. You have 10 minutes after signing in; after that, sign in again.
What it deletes
- Your encrypted backup on our servers
- The keys that unlock it
- Any recovery setup
- Your Sign in with Apple connection, if you signed in with Apple (we ask Apple to remove Remember4Me from your Apple ID)
What it can’t do
- Erase the app’s data on a phone or tablet.
- Remove the app’s access to your Google account or Google Drive.
- Cancel your subscription.
Still have the app on a device? Delete the app from every device first. A device that is still signed in keeps its data and may back it up to our servers again.
Google access Remove it in your Google Account: Security → Third-party apps & services Signing in on the deletion page may also add Remember4Me there; remove it the same way.
Or use the app again
- Reinstall Remember4Me and sign in with the same Apple or Google account you used before.
- If you’re asked for your passphrase and don’t have it, tap Forgot your passphrase? Start fresh. This also permanently deletes your old cloud backup.
- Then go to: Settings → Delete account and follow the steps above.
Your Account ID
Your Account ID is a short code that lets our support team find your account. It is the only way we can find it: we don’t store your email address or your name with your backup.
Where to find it Open Remember4Me and go to: Settings → Privacy → Your security It is in the first section, Your account ID, with a Copy button beside it.
What it looks like
12 letters and numbers in three groups of four, for example
7K3M-9QXA-B2RT. It never contains the letters I, L, O or U,
so a 0 is always zero and a 1 is always
one.
Save it now You can only see it while you’re signed in to the app. Keep a copy somewhere safe in case you lose access later. It can’t be used to sign in or to read your data.
If you can’t sign in at all
For example, you no longer have access to the Apple or Google account you used in the app.
Email support@gramjee.com with your Account ID and ask us to delete your account. This is a limited fallback, not a replacement for deleting in the app or on the web.
What we can do
- Delete your encrypted cloud backup
- Delete the encrypted keys that unlock it
- Delete any recovery setup
What we can’t do
- Erase your data on any phone or tablet that still has the app
- Remove the app’s access to your Google Drive
- Sign you out of the app
- Remove Remember4Me from your Apple ID
- Cancel your subscription
Deleting in the app does the first four in one step: Settings → Delete account That’s why we recommend it whenever you can sign in.
No Account ID and can’t sign in? Then we have no way to find your account, and we can’t delete it from an email address alone.
Why you need to sign in
Your backup is identified only by your Apple or Google sign-in. We don’t store your email address with it, so an email address alone can’t find your backup.
Signing in, in the app or on the web, is how we confirm the account is yours. Only the app can also erase the data on your device.
Stuck? Email support@gramjee.com and we’ll help you through it.
What gets deleted
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your encrypted cloud backup | Deleted immediately from our servers |
| The encrypted keys that unlock your backup, including any recovery setup | Deleted immediately |
| Everything on your device: memories, documents, notes, tags, reminders, and your encryption key | Erased |
| The app’s access to your Google Drive | Revoked. You’re signed out of Drive in the app. |
| Your Sign in with Apple connection | Removed. If you signed in with Apple, Remember4Me is removed from your Apple ID. |
| Your sign-in on this device | Signed out |
Deleting on the web removes the first two rows and, if you signed in with Apple, your Sign in with Apple connection. The rows about your device and Google Drive need the app, or the steps in If you no longer have the app.
What is not deleted, and why
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Files in your own Google Drive |
Left in your Drive, because they’re yours. Our servers never had access to them; only the app on your phone did. To remove them, open Google Drive, delete the Remember4Me folder, then empty your Drive bin. To check that Remember4Me no longer has access, open your Google Account: Security → Third-party apps & services |
| Your Sign in with Apple connection, in rare cases |
We usually remove it for you. We can’t, or can’t be sure it was removed, if:
To check or remove it yourself, on your iPhone: Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → Remember4Me → Stop Using Apple ID Or on the web: appleid.apple.com → Sign-In and Security → Sign in with Apple |
| Memories you shared with “Send a copy” | The copy you sent someone is theirs to keep. Copies the other person never received are deleted from our relay automatically within 14 days. |
| Tag counts | Kept. We store a count for each tag name, never linked to your account, so we can’t find or remove the tags you added. That’s why we suggest not putting personal details in tags. |
| Feedback you sent | Kept for up to 12 months, then deleted. If you included your email and want it removed sooner, email support@gramjee.com. |
| Emails you sent us | Support emails are kept for up to 24 months. Legal notices and arbitration opt-outs are kept as long as needed for legal records. To have a support email deleted sooner, email support@gramjee.com. |
| Short-lived security records | Our hosting provider keeps request logs, which can include your account ID, for a few days for security and troubleshooting, then deletes them automatically. |
| Purchase and subscription records | Held by Apple or Google under their own policies. We can’t delete them. |
We never had the key to read your backup, even before deletion: it’s encrypted on your device before upload, with a key we never receive.
